We are seeing an increase in person(s) tampering with water meters causing broken locks and damaged meters.  Please be advised that ONLY Boonville Public Works Employees are authorized to address any issues with the water meter, including but not limited to repairs, service connection/disconnection/reconnection, etc. Tampering with the meter is a $50 fine and full payment of any damages, by the account holder. Unauthorized persons that tamper with the water meters can be punished by fine or misdemeanor criminal offenses under § 14‑151. Interfering with gas, electric, and steam appliances or meters.
